Calhan, Colorado

Calhan used to be a simple farming/ranching town straddling US Highway 24 on the plains east of Colorado Springs. Then Colorado Springs started growing and today, a significant number of the folks who call Calhan home work in the city and commute there every day. Unlike other towns in the area, though, the population of Calhan has been declining since about 2000.
