Lory State Park

Adjacent to Horsetooth Reservoir, Lory State Park offers 26 miles of hiking, biking and horseback riding trails through some incredible foothill scenery just minutes from Fort Collins. The eastern trails at Lory State Park give access to some of the bays and coves at Horsetooth Reservoir. For rafters, kayakers and canoeists, it's only a short carry from the parking lot at North Eltuck Bay. Power boaters have to launch from the boat ramp at Horsetooth Reservoir, 2 miles to the south.

While there's no developed campground facility at Lory State Park, back country camping is allowed. Possession of a valid vehicle pass for Lory State Park also gives you foot, horseback or bike access to the neighboring Horsetooth Mountain Open Space trail system operated by Larimer County Parks and Open Lands (but a Larimer County Permit does not allow vehicle access to Lory State Park). Lory State Park also has a group picnic area and a conference room in the Visitor Center.
