Vona, Colorado

Vona is a small town on the eastern plains of Colorado that has seen some growth since 2000 but has also seen the local median income drop more than 30%. The town began along a siding on the railroad and grew quickly at first. Then a large fire burned most of the business district and the town never recovered. What's left of Vona is located just north of US Highway 24, several miles north of Interstate 70.
