Haxtun, Colorado

Haxtun is a farming/ranching community near the northwestern corner of Phillips County. It obviously has seen more prosperous times (decades ago) but the population base is still good and there are some businesses still making it in town.

The town was originally founded along a siding of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad (most towns on the eastern plains of Colorado owe their origins to the arrival of a railroad and the construction of a siding).
