Storrie Lake State Park

Storrie Lake State Park

Storrie Lake State Park is a favorite among the windsurfing set because of the consistent winds that blow there. The lake surface covers 1,100 acres but the state park only contains 80 acres, the rest of the land around the lake being private ranch land.

Storrie Lake State Park offers a visitor center, group picnic shelter and 45 developed campsites, 21 of which offer electric hookups. The camping area also has restrooms, showers and a playground for the kids. The state park has a central RV dump station and a full-service marina on the lake. In addition to camping and windsurfing, Storrie Lake State Park offers activities like boating, sailing, fishing, picnicking and wildlife watching.

The entry gate at Storrie Lake State Park is open from 6 am to sunset, April through September, and from 7 am to sunset from October through March. To get there: Storrie Lake State Park is located about 4 miles north of Las Vegas on New Mexico Highway 518.
