Brush, Colorado

The story is that Brush was named for one Jared L. Brush, a 59er who stayed and homesteaded near Johnstown, Colorado after the gold rush was over. He later served as a Weld County Commissioner, county sheriff, state legislator and was elected Lieutenant Governor twice. So the town was officially named "Brush" in 1882... but the town wasn't incorporated until 1884.
