Cheyenne County, Colorado

Cheyenne County is in the Great Plains area of eastern Colorado. Although somewhat "tree-challenged," it's pretty countryside, but that doesn't count when there's no way to support yourself or your family. The young folks grow up in a rural atmosphere, then they move to the cities for work and school and don't come back. Like so many other rural aereas across the country, Cheyenne County is slowly being drained of population (and funds).

Cheyenne County was named for the Cheyenne Nation of Native Americans. Cheyenne County contains 1,781 square miles of land and almost no surface water. The county seat is Cheyenne Wells.
