Perdido Key State Park

Spiderwort grows on the dunes and stabilizes the dune systems

Perdido Key is a 247-acre barrier island protecting the mainland of the Florida panhandle in far northwest Florida. Perdido Key State Park is a state-owned preserve of white sandy beaches and rolling dunes on Perdido Key. There are several boardwalks connecting the parking areas to the beaches and protecting the fragile ecosystem in between. Perdido Key State Park is a perennial favorite among surf fishermen, sunbathers, swimmers and picnickers with the large sandy expanses and eight nearby covered picnic pavilions. Winter can bring out the local surfers as wave action is often better then.

Perdido Key State Park is open from 8 am to sunset, every day of the year. Perdido Key State Park is located off State Road 292 about 15 miles southwest of Pensacola. Just across the bridge on the mainland side is Big Lagoon State Park.
