Blue Springs State Park

Blue Springs State Park is a 103-acre property southeast of Clio on Highway 10 in Barbour County, Alabama. The centerpiece of Blue Springs State Park is an underground-fed clear blue spring (of course) that feeds into a gorgeous, sandy-bottomed swimming area (but swim at your own risk: there are no lifeguards). The spring delivers about 3,600 gallons of fresh water per minute at a steady 68°F year round. The park also offers modern and primitive campsites, comfort stations, picnic tables, shelters, grills, a playground area, a volleyball court and softball/soccer field. In the Park Office area you'll also find free wireless Internet access available.

You'll find picnic tables and grills located throughout the park, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Three large picnic pavilions can be rented for $50 per day, a fourth pavilion with ceiling fans is available for $75 per day (prices subject to change). Call the park office for reservations.

There are fifty campsites in the campground, all with water and electric, seven with added sewer hookup. Each campsite also has a picnic table, grill and fire pit. Maximum of eight people per campsite and families are not allowed to double up on the same site. The campground also offers rental campers (with microwave, stove, sink, coffee maker, pillows, small fridge and cookware but no bed linens, bath linens or silverware). Each rental camper also has its own picnic table and grill.

For day use, Blue Springs State Park is open from 7 am to sunset, all year round.
