Frank Jackson State Park
Frank Jackson Lake
Located on the shoreline of the 1,000-acre Lake Jackson, Frank Jackson State Park is a 2,050-acre property. Lake Jackson offers excellent swimming and fishing opportunities while the state park offers shoreline picnic areas, lakefront campsites and a natural island reached by a walking path leading to a boardwalk across the water. The island itself offers a short walking loop with limited access to the shoreline.
Especially stocked and managed for excellent freshwater fishing, Lake Jackson offers an abundance of bream, crappie, catfish and bass. The big bass fishing tournament here happens every year in April. At the northwest end of the dam is a handicapped accessible fishing platform, accessed via Highway 42.
The campground at Frank Jackson State Park offers 32 RV sites with wireless internet access and water, electric, sewer and cable TV hookups. There's no separate tent camping area but tents are allowed in the developed campground at the regular rate. The bathhouse in the campground is universally accessible.
