Hawk Springs State Recreation Area

A view at Hawk Springs State Recreation Area

A State Recreation Area, Hawk Springs has been a fisherman's favorite for many years. The fishing for largemouth bass, channel catfish and walleye is renowned. The ice fishing is supposed to be pretty good, too.

The park also has a large blue heron rookery with birds like the great horned owl, blue-winged and green-winged teal, pintail, gadwall and wood ducks spending their summers here.
