Econfina River State Park

Econfina River State Park is a 3,377-acre property located near the mouth of the Econfina River on the Gulf of Mexico. The countryside here is mostly oak-and-palm forest, pine flatwoods and broad areas of salt marsh with interspersed islands covered with pines. This is all part of a large estuarine tidal marsh that extends from St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge to Cedar Key.

Econfina River State Park offers boating, canoeing, fishing, kayaking and picnicking. This is also a favorite spot for bird watchers. There's fourteen miles of trail for hiking, biking and horse-back riding, too (horse-back riders need to register with the park office before heading out on a trail). The Econfina River flows into the Gulf of Mexico about 2.2 miles south of the park's boat ramp.

Econfina River State Park is located at the end of County Road 14, just south of US Highway 98 in Taylor County. The park is open for day use only, from 8 am to sunset, 365 days a year. There's no admission fee but use of the boat ramp requires $5. Bring exact change because you'll be paying into an honor box. Fees quoted are subject to change.
