Price is the county seat and largest city in Carbon County. The city was founded to service local mining claims and grew up with a Catholic/Greek Orthodox/Mormon population (unusual for Utah).

The University of Eastern Utah is located in Price and offers an extensive Prehistoric Museum, fitting for a city located in the fossil-rich countryside of the Dinosaur Diamond.
