Tesuque is a census designated place in the vicinity of Tesuque Pueblo. The CDP abuts the northern city limits of Santa Fe and stretches north through the valley on both sides of Bishops Lodge Road.

Tesuque Pueblo is a member of the Eight Northern Pueblos and the people are of the Tewa ethnic group of Native Americans and speak the Tewa language.

Camel Rock is a locally famous rock formation just to the west of US Highways 84/285 (which cross the area north/south). Immediately across the highway from Camel Rock is the Camel Rock Casino, a property of Tesuque Pueblo.
