Sandoval County is in north central New Mexico. Several of the New Mexico Pueblo Indian Reservations are here with their beautiful hotels, convention centers, golf courses, and casinos. Just north of Bernalillo is where you'll find Coronado State Monument. Near San Ysidro is White Mesa Bike Trails, Ojito Wilderness and the Perea Nature Trail. A bit further north and to the west is the Cabezon Peak Wilderness Study Area and the Ignacio Chavez Special Management Area. El Camino Real, Corrales Road Scenic Byway and the Jemez Mountain Trail also run through Sandoval County. Along the Jemez Mountain Trail is where you'll find Fenton Lake State Park, Jemez State Monument and Valles Caldera National Preserve..

Formed in 1903, Sandoval County contains 3,709 square miles of land and 5 square miles of water. The county seat is Bernalillo. Rio Rancho is the largest city in the county and the fastest growing city in the state.
