Ojo Caliente

Ojo Caliente is a small town that probably wouldn't be, except for the mineral hot springs located there.

There are a number of geothermal springs popping to the surface in this area but the ones along the river are the most developed.

The Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs & Spa is actually one of the oldest and most sacred health resorts in North America.

The town around the mineral springs offers several hotel/motel type places, a restaurant or two and even a campground, although the Mineral Springs itself offers cabins and hotel lodgings with an excellent health-food restaurant.

The Mineral Springs is about 1/2 mile west of US 285 from a turn in the middle of town.

The Santa Cruz Church in Ojo Caliente is one of the oldest in New Mexico and was restored to its original splendor about 35 years ago.
